Terence Stamp, the British actor best known for his role as General Zod in the Superman films, has passed away at the age of 87.
Throughout his six-decade career, Stamp starred in notable films such as The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Far From the Madding Crowd, Valkyrie., Wall Street and Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
The news of Stamp's death was confirmed Sunday morning by his family, who wrote "He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and a writer that will continue to touch people for years to come."
