Former Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown is launching a comeback campaign.
According to a campaign video shared by Brown, he "didn't plan to run for office again," but he says he knew there was something he could do for Ohio after observing the current condition of the state.
Brown will challenge Senator Jon Husted, a Republican appointed by Governor Mike DeWine to fill the vacancy created by JD Vance's election as vice president.
His campaign launch will set the stage for a 2026 special election that could decide partisan control of the Senate.
