The Defense Department has accepted a Boeing jet from Qatar to be retrofitted and used to transport President Trump, according to Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth accepted the Boeing 747 "in accordance with all federal rules and regulations," ensuring proper security measures and functional-mission requirements are considered for an aircraft used to transport the President of the United States.

Sources confirmed that the Qatari royal family would be donating the aircraft for Mr. Trump's use, with the jumbo jet set to be donated to his future presidential library just before he leaves office.

The gift of the aircraft for Mr. Trump's use was first reported by ABC News, and the details of the retrofitting and preparations for its presidential transport role are still developing.

This is a developing story, and updates on the progress and arrangements for the Boeing jet's transformation for presidential transport will be forthcoming.
