A midair collision involving two small planes in southern Arizona killed at least two people near Marana Regional Airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the collision, and the Marana Police Department confirmed two deaths.
The Federal Aviation Administration stated that two people were aboard each plane involved in the collision.
The airport in Marana operates without an air traffic control tower, and a project to build one was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Four major aviation disasters have occurred in North America in the last month, including incidents in Toronto, Alaska, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
