Members of the Cavaliers expressed interest in bringing a team back to the city as the league continues to explore expansion opportunities.
Cavaliers CEO Nic Barlage told the media they are "actively pursuing" bringing a team back to the Land.
The Cleveland Rockers existed from 1997-to-2003.
The WNBA is already adding three expansion teams over the next two seasons.
