The Guardians are still alive after topping the Tigers 5-4 in Game Four of the ALDS at Comerica Park. Hunter Gaddis was credited with the win after striking out three batters over an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief. Emmanuel Clase secured the save after recording the final five outs on just 16 pitches. Jose Ramirez slugged a solo homer and David Fry went deep with a pinch-hit two-run blast. Beau Brieske suffered the loss after allowing the home run to Fry. Zach McKinstry led the way at the plate for the Tigers after going one for two with a solo shot. Cleveland hopes to finish the job Saturday afternoon when it hosts Detroit for Game Five at Progressive Field.
