Hopefully this is Guardians Closer Emmanuel Clase's MULLIGAN...Get it out of his system and now Mow 'em Down the rest of the Playoffs.
The Tigers stunned the Guardians 3-0 from Progressive Field to even their American League Division Series at one game apiece. Kerry Carpenter stepped up to the plate with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and blasted a three-run homer to break the scoreless deadlock. Beau Brieske notched the save while Will Vest earned the win in relief. Tarik Skubal gave up three hits and mowed down eight batters in his seven-inning start. Emmanuel Clase got the loss after giving up the home run in a 2-2 count. Josh Naylor and Brayan Rocchio hit doubles for Cleveland, which heads to Comerica Park for Game Three of the best-of-five series on Wednesday.
