The Guardians snapped their three-game skid after taking down the Yankees 9-5 in 12 innings in their series opener at Yankee Stadium. Tim Herrin picked up his fifth victory of the season after striking out one batter over a scoreless inning of relief. David Fry led the way at the plate with a bases clearing triple. Cleveland is now 73-and-52. The three-game series continues tonight.
