The Federal Trade Commission through the consumer sentinel network has received over 5.1 million complaints in 2022 and of that roughly 22% is related to identity theft

  1. Be mindful of availability of personal information

 

  1. Be alert to impersonators through mailing or phone calls

 

  1. Use security software and strong passwords

 

  1. Be mindful what you post on social media

 

  1. Monitor credit reports
