California wildlife officials are deploying a family of beavers to help prevent drought.

Seven beavers were released into the South Fork Tule River on the Tule River Indian Reservation.

Beaver dams can help retain water and improve their habitat, preventing drought and wildfires.

The state began deploying beavers in 2022.
