Latest news:
· Principal photography commenced in Downtown Cleveland on Monday, June 24 and production will continue in Cleveland through mid-July
· All of the lead actors have been spotted filming on set and patronizing local businesses
· Stars in town include: David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Wendell Pierce, Edi Gathegi, director James Gunn
· Detailed sets have been constructed across Downtown, including at Cleveland City Hall, which is now Metropolis City Hall

· Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster met in 1932 while attending Glenville High School in Cleveland
Film productions bring blockbuster benefits
· Other productions include The Avengers, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Judah and the Black Messiah, White Noise.
· Since the creation of the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit in 2009:
o The program has generated $1.38 billion in economic output in Ohio, with Greater Cleveland getting 60 to 70%.
o In the last round, Greater Cleveland got 60.87% of the total production budget approved by the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit Program.
o Greater Cleveland has a total production budget booked this year of $147 million -- the best year ever.
o And, statewide, 7,092 full-time equivalent jobs have been created and programs have been created, including at CMSD, to develop talent.
o The tax credit is currently $75 million; there is a bill in the Senate right now, SB 283, to increase it to $100 million. There is a 300% return on investment for that tax to the state of Ohio.

Summer of the Guardians
· The Cleveland Guardians are THE MLB story of the season so far, leading their division and attracting huge numbers of fans
· As of Wednesday, Guardians are leading AL Central: 51-26
· Guardians are averaging 22,594 fans. That’s up about 20% from this time a year ago.

All Star Voting
· Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan All Star are voting leaders:
· As of Monday: Guardians' star third basemen, Jose Ramirez, took a huge lead over the top five third basemen for the AL squad
· Steven Kwan's return from the IL has boosted his chances of starting. Kwan is currently in fourth place among outfielders and is less than 30,000 votes behind Kyle Tucker.

· As of Monday, Kwan is hitting .463 with 31 hits and four home runs since May 31.
· Major League Baseball hasn't seen a qualified .400 hitter since Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941. (Kwan not yet qualified due to time on IL)

· Not only was downtown filled with Superman and Guardians – and Toronto Blue Jays - fans last weekend.
· It was also bustling with attendees of the 45th annual Tri-C JazzFest - inside and outside Playhouse Square. As well as those seeing “Back to the Future.” A reminder that Playhouse Square is the largest performing arts district outside of New York City.
