CLEVELAND – 24th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards presented by Medical Mutual and Ancora announced the best of 2023 Cleveland sports on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (RMFH). Holly Rowe, ESPN Reporter and Commentator, led the live show with appearances from local and national sports celebrities in front of over 1,400 guests.

Highlights from tonight’s show included Morelle McCane, boxer for Team USA competing in Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and Diana Munz, former competitive swimmer and Olympic champion, who presented Renee Powell with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Union Home Mortgage. Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns defensive end, received the Professional Athlete of the Year Award from Stephen Vogt, Cleveland Guardians manager. Honors were accepted by Andrew Berry, Executive Vice President for Football Operations and General Manager for the Cleveland Browns. Watch Garrett’s acceptance video.
Maurice Hurst, Cleveland Browns defensive tackle, and Jamel White, former Cleveland Browns running back, teamed up to award the High School Athlete of the Year Awards presented by University Hospitals Drusinky Sports Medicine Institute to Marquise Davis and Sophia Sindelar.
Anderson Varejao, former Cleveland Cavaliers forward, and Cayleigh Griffin, Host/Reporter at Bally Sports Ohio and the Pre & Postgame Host of ‘Cavaliers Live’, awarded the Case Western Reserve University Men’s Tennis Team and Destiny Leo with Collegiate Athlete of the Year Awards presented by H. Jack’s Plumbing & Heating Co. “The Super Plumber!”
Additionally, Rowe was joined on stage with Dr. Lutul Farrow, Executive Director at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine, and presented Olivia “Liv” Slivinski with the Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine Courage Award. Watch Liv’s courageous story.
The culmination of the night was highlighted as Nathan Zegura, color analyst for Cleveland Browns radio, and Chris Rose, Cleveland native and veteran sports broadcaster, presented the 2023 Best Moment in Cleveland Sports presented by JACK Entertainment. Joel Bitonio, Cleveland Browns guard, accepted the award on behalf of the team for the Cleveland Browns Clinching Playoff Berth. Relive the Browns Playoff Berth.
