Parent And Guardians Subject To Discipline If Kids Break New Curfew

Cleveland parents would be the ones subjected to discipline if their children violate a new curfew law passed by the city council last night.

Under the law, children ages 12 and under cannot be out after dark unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Children ages 13 and 14 cannot be out unattended between 9:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., 15- and 16-year-olds between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., and 17-year-olds cannot be out unattended after midnight.

The parents and guardians of children and teens violating the curfew would be subject to fines and possible jail time.
