The rare form of skin cancer that killed singer Jimmy Buffett is growing more common in the U.S., experts say.
Buffett died from Merkel cell cancer, a rare but aggressive disease that affects one out of every 130,000 people in the U.S.
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, cases are becoming more common - from 3,000 cases per year to 3,250 per year by 2025.
Males over the age of 65 that are exposed to frequent sunlight without proper protection are at highest risk of developing Merkel cell cancer, experts say.
