The Guardians salvaged their series against the Padres following an 8-6 victory from San Diego. Trevor Stephan was credited with the win after pitching an inning-and-two-thirds of scoreless relief. Emmanuel Clase earned his 21st save of the season while David Fry launched a three-run shot for his first homer of the season. Cleveland is still second in the AL Central. The team stays out west to play the Diamondbacks tonight.
