One of Twitter CEO Elon Musk's alleged least favorite news outlets, The New York Times, has had the verification check mark removed from its main account.
Several of Twitter's well-known users are preparing for the removal of the blue checkmarks that served as a way to confirm their identity and set them apart from imposters on the social media app.
Musk gave verified users until Saturday, April 1, to upgrade to a premium account or risk losing the checks on their accounts.
In a report published on Thursday, March 30, The Times stated that it would not pay Twitter to verify its institutional accounts.
