In the never-ending quest for automotive safety, Hyundai has come up with something truly innovative…the airbag for your crotch. At first glance, this might appear just to be a way to protect your genitals from crash impact, but there’s more to it.
Research has found that, “due to gravity, poor posture, and the vibration of a car,” a seat belt might “rise up” on a passenger “within a few miles.” That might be enough where “smaller passengers” might be able to “slip underneath the belt,” a term that the industry calls “submarining.”
They new seat-mounted crotch airbag has been designed to prevent that from happening, but they might also protect your junk, too.
