Columbus-based podcast company Wessler Media is attempting to preserve a piece of Cleveland history, as they seek to digitize nearly 100 8track tapes that were donated by a Cleveland resident. The tapes contain air checks, promotions, commercials, and other on-air recordings from the 1970s and 1980s featuring all the voices you know and love from way back when, including but not limited to legendary WMMS disc jockeys like Jeff and Flash, Kid Leo, Murray Saul, Denny Sanders, and Matt the Cat. They're trying to raise about $4,000 to put towards accomplishing the end goal of digitization.
Who knows what will be unearthed when the project is completed.
