Seven people are dead and another 31 are recovering from injuries following another violent weekend in Chicago, authorities say.
Of the seven fatalities, six died after being shot while the seventh -- a 28-year-old woman -- was stabbed to death, according to the Chicago Police Department. Overall, the victims ranged in age from 17 to 61, police records indicate.
The tally represents an increase over the previous weekend, when four people were killed and 24 were injured in Chicago shooting incidents.
