Attorney Michael Avenatti, who rose to fame as ex-porn star Stormy Daniels' lawyer in her lawsuit against then-President Donal Trump, has been sentenced to prison for defrauding his most famous client.
On Thursday, Avenatti was sentenced to four years in prison for a scheme to steal nearly 300,000 from Daniels. He was convicted of wire fraud and identity theft earlier this year.
The 51-year-old Avenatti became a mini-celebrity in 2018, frequently appearing on TV and even mulling a presidential run.
