A Florida man almost got the shock of his life after a lightning strike just missed him.
Rod Murphy stepped outside his Sebring house to turn off his sprinkler system and seemingly out of nowhere, lighting struck his neighbors front yard. The impact was so powerful, it gave him a significant jolt.
Murphy says "It wasn't raining. It was cloudy, but that was it, and then boom. Only two things happen when you get hit by lightning: You die or you get knocked out. You don't know what's going to happen, and I thought I was a goner."
Murphy's doorbell camera caught the bolt that sent chunks of the ground flying 20-feet into the air. The lightning Safety Council detected it came from a storm that was 10 miles away.
