Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani Lead Halos in 9-5 Win Against Guardians

ANAHEIM, CA -- Cleveland's superstar third baseman Jose Ramirez got the Guardians off on the right foot, going yard on Ohtani in the top half of the first to take an early 2-0 lead. The Cleveland lead was short lived, with the Angels answering back with six runs of their own through the first two innings, including a grand slam off the bat of Taylor Ward. Ohtani and the Anaheim bullpen kept the Cleveland lineup rather quiet, cruising to a 9-5 win over the visiting Guardians.

Shohei Ohtani took the ball for the Halos on Wednesday evening and had a solid night pitching, posting a final line of 2 earned runs on 5 hits through 5 total innings, striking out 4 batters while walking a lone hitter.

One bright spot from the Guardians 9-5 loss on Wednesday was the bat of Jose Ramirez, who drove in four RBI on two separate two-run bombs, with both swings coming from the left side of the plate.

The Cleveland Guardians will look to avoid the four-game sweep in Anaheim on Thursday afternoon, when they will send right hander Cal Quantrill to the hill to take on Reid Detmers.. First pitch is set for 4:07 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, in Anaheim, California. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
