Democrat Candidates for Ohio Governor Pick Their Running Mates

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The two major democrat candidates for Governor of Ohio both revealed their selections for running mates on Wednesday.

Former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley selected Cuyahoga County Councilwoman Cheryl Stephens. Former Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley picked State Senator Teresa Fedor, from the Toledo area.

Whaley and Cranley are vying for the party's nomination for Governor in the primary election on May 3rd, to take on the Republican nominee in the general election on November 8th.

Current Republican Governor Mike DeWine is facing a primary challenge from former congressman Jim Renacci, and northeast Ohio farmer Joe Blystone.
