On his performance this season thus far:
“I think it is going well. There is obviously more to work on. There always is. So far so good. As a team, we are playing well and things are going well. There definitely is a lot more for us to play, and we can play a lot better in that regard. It is a work in the progress. At the end of the season, we put ourselves in a good position and we just have to keep getting better.”
On this season is significantly different after his first year with the team in 2020:
“Definitely. You get in Year 2 of the system, that is usually when you get the biggest jump of just understanding by the group. I think we are doing a great job, and now, we are able to diversify a little bit more.”
On T Jedrick Wills Jr. battling through an ankle injury:
“It is something that comes with the entire season. There is usually somebody playing hurt on the O line. The other guys have to step up and help him. I think we have been doing a good job of that. It is something that we have to keep working on. Hopefully, we can get him back to full strength soon.”
On how someone filling in for a starting member of the OL during a game impacts the entire OL:
“I think (offensive line) Coach (Bill) Callahan does a great job of running guys through all of camp and all of the offseason in preparation for these situations. It is something that comes up every year. Last year, (G) Wyatt (Teller) got hurt and (T) Chris Hubbard had to come in at guard, and that was something new. Even at the end of the year, we had (G) Blake (Hance) step in, (former Browns and Titans T) Kendall Lamm and (G) Michael Dunn. It is something that we prepare for and work hard for. Obviously, you want to have all of your guys healthy, but it is something that comes with the National Football League. Our coach has done a great job of preparing us for that.”
