PORTLAND, OR -- The Cavaliers came out of the gates struggling on Friday night, giving up an insurmountable lead in the opening quarter. Portland was firing on all cylinders on both ends of the floor, as they were able to maintain a double digit lead through most of the game. The Trail Blazers cruised to a 129-110 victory over a scuffling Cavaliers squad.
The Portland Trail Blazers are trending upwards, and continued their brilliant play on the court against the visiting Cavaliers. After jumping out to a 20 point lead in the first quarter, The Blazers put the clamps on the Cavaliers, preventing any sort of a comeback. The ever consistent Damian Lillard scored 202 points in 29 total minutes of play. Portland center Enes Kanter shot an efficient 9-11 from the field on his way to a 21 point 13 rebound game. Second year guard Gary Trent Jr knocked down 4 of 6 triples, dropping a total of 22 points.
After seeing his double digit point streak come to a halt on Wednesday, Collin Sexton rebounded in a big way, scoring 25 points on 8 of 16 shooting. Jarrett Allen provided a consistent spark off the bench with 22 points and 6 boards.
The nightmare of a road trip continues for a young Cavaliers team, who have dropped six consecutive games. The Cavaliers will head to the City of Angels to take on the red hot Clippers. Sunday night's tip-off is set for 10 pm ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
