MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- In a game where the Cleveland Cavaliers controlled the glass and notched their team high in assists, they still fell short. The Minnesota Timberwolves played a high tempo game with what is considered a 'small ball' lineup, and in turn, forced a lot of turnovers. The Wolves caught fire from beyond the arc on their way to a 109-104 win over the Cavaliers to snap a 3-game losing streak.
D'Angelo Russell was a man on a mission in the second half, knocking down three pointer after three pointer. The 5th year guard out of The Ohio State University hit five long balls while scoring 19 total points. Jaylen Nowell, first year guard out of Washington, contributed 13 points off the bench to mark his career high.
Andre Drummond scored his 9,000th point in the NBA, becoming the fifth active player to hit the 9,000 points and 5,000 rebounds mark. The Cavaliers big man scored 25 points while pulling in an eye-popping 22 rebounds. Also dominating the glass was Larry nance Jr, who secured 16 boards, a career high for the young Cavalier forward.
The Cavaliers and Timberwolves will both fly to Cleveland Ohio to square off tomorrow night against each other. Tip-off tomorrow evening is set for 8:00 pm ET at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
