(Cleveland) - It may be well into the New Year before there's a jury trial in Cuyahoga County. The judges in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas have voted to continue the suspension of jury trials beyond January 19,.
Previously, the judges had agreed to postpone the trials until January 19, but the continued high levels of of COVID-19 made that date unrealistic. They will meet again in January to reassess the situation.
Even though there are no jury trials, bench trials are still taking place. Attorneys are being asked to continue working on cases to determine if cases can be settled without a trial,.
