EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants clashed in a Sunday Night Game that had playoff implications. The Giants came out of the gates hot with a 48 yard kick return by Dion Lewis, before driving inside the Browns 20-yardline. Faced with a 4th and short inside the red-zone, the Giants attempted trickery but fell short on an incomplete pass by placeholder Riley Dixon. The Browns controlled the entire game from that point forward on their way to a 20-6 victory over the New York Football Giants.

When many thought the Browns would have a run heavy offense against the Giants, Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski went the opposite direction. Mayfield picked apart the New York secondary, completing 27 of 32 passes for 297 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Cleveland gun slinger got the party started with a 2-yard touchdown pass to tight end Austin Hooper, and tossed his second touchdown to Jarvis Landry in the back of the end zone to seal the game in the fourth quarter.

After an ugly opening half, the New York Giants became the first team since the 2006 season to turn the ball over twice in the red-zone in the first half of a game. Veteran quarterback Colt McCoy finished the game completing 19 of 31 passes for a total of 221 yards.

The Cleveland Browns move into the #5 seed in the AFC Playoff picture after securing their 10th win of the season. Cleveland will return to the meadowlands a week from Sunday to take on the New York Jets. Kickoff on Sunday, December 27th is set for 1:00 pm ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New jersey.
