(Cleveland, OH) - According to a weekly press release from Westlake Police several arrests were made this week of October 4th.
On Monday, at about 7:00am, an officer checked on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Sonesta Suites on Clemens Rd.
The officer noted that the registered owner of the car had multiple warrants from 5 different departments.
These warrants were for thefts, an assault, traffic tickets and trespassing.
When the 23-year-old returned to his vehicle officers approached and he was arrested on the warrants
The male also was found to be carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his vehicle along with suspected marijuana, pills and scales.He was transported to the Cuyahoga County Jail.
Also on Monday, at approx. 9:30pm officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Center Ridge and Crocker Road.
When speaking to the drivers, the investigators noted that the operator of the SUV that rear ended the other vehicle had an odor of an alcoholic beverage.
When asked, she was not able to simply recite the entire alphabet from A to Z.
After being field tested further, the 33 year-old female from North Ridgeville was arrested for OVI.
She was charged with OVI and refusal of a chemical test after a prior OVI conviction as well as a traffic violation for the crash.
No one was injured in the collision.
Then on Thursday. at 9:00pm, officers responded to the area of Five Guys on Detroit Rd for a suspicious male.
The fire department had already been dispatched to check on a male in the trash compactor behind the business.
Officers located the male as reported and talked him into coming out on his own.
When asked to explain himself the 25 year-old Richmond Heightts resident said that he just needed some alone time.
The male had an active trespass warrant from Westlake.
When he found out he was going to be arrested, he became uncooperative.
The officers had to force him into handcuffs.
He was transported to the WPD jail without further incident.
