Chardon Schools Ban "Thin Blue Line" Flag

(Chardon) - Geauga County Commissioner Ralph Spidalieri is calling for the resignation of Chardon Schools superintendent Michael Hanlon Jr. This is after Hanlon banned the "Thin Blue Line" flag from sporting events.

Hanlon says the Chardon schools developed a special relationship with police after the 2012 shooting at Chardon High School, but the pro-police flag won't be allowed at school functions, since it can be interpreted as a racially motivated.

Students displayed the flag at last week's football game, in support of a coach who is also a police officer.

Spidalieri says Hanlon's sentiments "sicken" him, so he wants Hanlon to step down.
