(Shaker Heights) - Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide, as a husband and wife, and their twin son and daughter, were all found dead inside their home.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner says the bodies were all found in a home in the 18100 block of South Woodland Road on Sunday. The ME identified them as John Tobin, 57, Regina Tobin, 58, and their children, Natalie and Graham, both 15.
Police were called out to the Tobin home Sunday for a welfare check, and inside, found all four bodies.
Police have not yet said how the four died. One neighbor told 19 News that they could hear screams from the house.
John Tobin was Vice President of Development in the Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals. In a statement, UH said, "We are saddened by this tragic event and have offered counseling to those who had worked with him."
Natalie was about to start her freshman year at Laurel School. In a statement, the school says, “Our hearts are broken. Natalie came to Laurel in the Eighth Grade—a bookworm, scholar and volleyball player, she was a gentle, warm and thoughtful friend, looking forward with joy to Upper School. In the face of tragedy, the loss of a child is devastating, and the sudden and horrific loss of a family is excruciating. Our counseling team will be available to support our girls as the school processes its sorrow. The Laurel Community holds the extended Tobin family and Natalie’s friends in our hearts.”
Gilmour Academy confirms that Graham was about to start his freshman year at that school, saying, “We are devastated by this tragic news. Graham was a member of our incoming freshman class and expressed so much positive anticipation during last week’s freshman orientation. Our prayers are with the entire extended Tobin family.”
