Passenger Numbers Up At Hopkins International Airport

(Cleveland) - Passenger numbers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, which dropped drastically during the pandemic, are picking up again.

The city says that in July 2020, there wer 320,806 passengers, a 53% improvement over June 2020. Year over year results show slight increases, with July 2020 passenger numbers down 67% over July 2019, while June 2020 versus June 2019 was down 78%.

Cargo total pounds handled for July 2020 was 16.6 million—compared to June 2020. This is up 15.7%, and compared to July 2019 up 16.2%.

The drop in passenger numbers still has its effects. HMS Host, the Maryland-based company providing food and beverage service at Hopkins, says it's permanently laying off 44 workers in Cleveland.
