Cuyahoga County Library Branches Will Open Their Doors July 6

(Parma) - The Cuyahoga County Public Library is opening its doors of all its branches on Monday, July 6.

All 27 branches will be open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and closed Sundays. The first hour of each day will be reserved for those who are in the vulnerable or high risk population.

Library Executive Director Tracy Strobel says capacity at each branch will be limited to 25%, and that will be enforced in part by spreading out tables and chairs. All staff will wear masks. Library users will have to wear a mask only when they're in areas where there's close contact, such as computers.

Books and other materials that are returned after being checked out will be quarantined for 72 hours before they're put back into circulation. Strobel says they've received information from Batelle Institute in Columbus that has determined that 72 hours is more than enough time for the virus to die off on library materials.

If a library patron doesn't feel comfortable coming inside, there will be either drive-through window, or curbside service, at all branches.
