CLEVELAND--For the second game in a row, Collin Sexton had a career high in points...41 points. But once again, it was not enough as the Boston Celtics led by Jayson Tatum's 32 points defeated the Cavs 112-106.
Despite the loss, Collin Sexton is emerging as a legit scoring threat for the Cavs. Sexton's previous career high was 32 points last Monday Night against Utah. But Sexton's coach and teammates know how valuable he is as a player.
Both teams were missing several players. Cavs played without Tristan Thompson, Andre Drummond & Darius Garland. Kevin Porter Jr missed the second half with an injury going for a rebound. The Celtics were missing Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward.
But the Celtics, led by starters Jayson Tatum (32pts) and Marcus Smart (18pts) along with bench player Semi Ojeleye (22pts) finished the job against the Cavs. With this result, the Celtics swept the four game regular season series.
Cavs get a couple days off before they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday Night. I'll host pregame coverage at 6:30pm with the Klaben Auto Stores Cavs Now Show Presented by Wayside Furniture follow by tip off at 7:30pm.
