BOSTON, MA -- Boston forward Jaylen Brown surpassed his season high in points, and tied his career high with 34 points. Jayson Tatum opened the first half scoring 24 of his 30 points, as the Boston Celtics cruised past the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers by the final score of 129-117.
Jaylen Brown could not be stopped en route to his first consecutive 30-point game of his young career. The Boston Celtics trailed the Cavs early on in the first quarter, before gaining the lead and never looking back. Boston big-man Enes Kanter contributed 14 points, and All-Star guard Kemba Walker scored a quiet 13.
Newly acquired point guard Dante Exum made his Cavaliers debut, and despite not knowing the team's system, had a solid performance. Exum scored 9 points on a perfect 3-3 from the field, and had one lone assist. Boston did not have an answer for Kevin Love, who lit up the Celtics for 30 points on 10-16 shooting, pulling in 7 rebounds and getting 4 dimes. Second-year guard Collin Sexton continues to be a reliable scorer for a young Cavaliers team, scoring 21 points on 9-20 shooting.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will head to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves on the second night of a back to back. Tip-off on Tuesday evening is set for 8:00 pm ET at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Check out highlights from today's game below!
