CLEVELAND, OH -- The Orlando Magic's height on the wing ended up being too much for the slumping Cavaliers. Terrence Ross led all scorers with 21 points, with his teammate Evan Fournier right behind him with 18 points. Aaron Gordon dealt the final blow the Cavaliers, slamming the ball home with 20 seconds remaining in the game to lead the Magic to a 93-87 victory over the hometown Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers and Magic battled back-and-forth for the entirety of the game, with Orlando slightly edging out the Cavs. Rookie guard Darius Garland brought the Cavs within three points on a jumper with 42.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter. In need of a big defensive stop on the following possession, the Cavaliers gave up a dunk to Aaron Gordon, who slammed it home over Tristan Thompson. On Cleveland's next possession, Larry Nance Jr turned the ball over on an errant pass toward Sexton, ending Cleveland's chance of pulling out the victory.
Second-year guard Collin Sexton led all Cavaliers in scoring with 19 points, shooting 50% from the field. Cedi Osman contributed 14 points, shooting 5-12, knocking down 3 of 7 three pointers. Despite playing efficiently in the first three quarters, the young Cavaliers seemed to run out of gas down the stretch, struggling to find ways to score in the final 7 minutes of the game. Cleveland has now dropped 12 of their last 13 games and the schedule is not getting easier for them.
The Cavaliers will fly to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers in the second night of a back-to-back on Saturday evening. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm ET at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Check out highlights from tonight's game below!
