NEW YORK -- The Cavaliers never lead in the game as the Knicks came out on fire and never looked back as they cruised to a 125-103 victory on Monday night. The Cavaliers, who were without Kevin Love and Larry Nance Jr tonight, were plagued by turnovers as they turned the ball over nineteen times tonight and that was the difference in the game as the Knicks scored 32 points off of those turnovers.
The Cavs were lead by rookie Kevin Porter Jr, making his first career NBA start, scored a season high 18 points, and Colin Sexton added 14 points for the Cavalier starters. Off the bench Alfonso McKinnie lead the way with 14 points, followed by Jordan Clarkson who added 13. The Cavs did shoot 47% from the field and 47% from 3 tonight, outshooting the Knicks percentage wise, but only made 53% off their free throws.
The Knicks were lead by Julius Randle who had 30 points on 12 of 17 shooting, and Marcus Morris who added another 23 points and shot 12 of 13 from the free throw line. Rookie RJ Barrett, taken two picks before Cavs rookie Darius Garland, added 15 points for the Knicks as well. The Knicks shot 44% from the field, but did take 20 more shots than the Cavs on the night.
Next up for the Cavs they will try and break the four game losing streak as they look to avenge the loss from last Thursday night against the Heat. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30.
