CLEVELAND, OH -- The Philadelphia 76ers are beginning to come into their own, and they came to Cleveland ready to rock n roll. Just a few days after squeaking by the Cavaliers in Philly, the 76ers jumped ahead early and never looked back, rolling past the Cavs 114-95.
A young Cavaliers team made a few early mistakes, digging themselves into a deep hole. Coach Beilein struggled to find a working lineup against a lengthy Philadelphia lineup. When asked about sizing up with Philly after the game, Coach Beilein explained that no matter what they did there was a mismatch on the court and the 76ers were ready to exploit it.
Tobias Harris, who struggled significantly from beyond the arc against the Cavs in the previous matchup, decided to attack the rim on Sunday and his new approach payed off. Harris lit up the hometown Cavs for a game-high 27 points, shooting a lights-out 12-14 from the field. 6'7" Turkish guard Furkan Korkmaz led the 76ers bench with 13 points, pulling in 4 rebounds.
The Cavaliers offense lacked ball movement on Sunday afternoon, as they had just 14 assists, compared to 33 dimes from the 76ers. Second year guard out of Alabama Collin Sexton led all Cavaliers in scoring, putting up 17 points, shooting 7-17 from the field. Jordan Clarkson provided a much needed spark from the bench, lighting up Philly for 15 points.
The Cavaliers will prepare for a three-game road trip, as they will catch a flight to New York City. Cleveland will take on the Knicks on Monday night, tip-off set for 7:00 pm ET at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York. Check out highlights from Sunday's game below!
