A Solon Police officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on US 422 for traffic and equipment violations. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle/person. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana and surrendered to the officer a small amount of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. Also discovered in the rear of the vehicle was a large amount of fireworks. The driver stated that he bought the fireworks in Pennsylvania from a roadside stand. The fireworks were confiscated.

ASolon Police officer was conducting a vacation watch of a residence when he observed a male exit the rear door of an adjoining property with a weapon in his hand. The male had his back to the officer and raised the weapon and discharged it at a squirrel in his back yard. The officer determined by the sound that the weapon was a BB gun. After discharging the BB gun the male went inside the residence. The officer went to the door and spoke with the resident and warned him about discharging a weapon in the city. The resident claimed he would comply. **He missed the squirrel**

Solon Police were dispatched to Solon Market District on a report of a shoplifter being detained. Arriving officers learned that a male had been observed pushing a cart out the door of the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The detained male admitted to walking out of the store without paying for the $385.69 worth of groceries. A search prior to transport discovered a package in his pocket with a white powder residue.The male indicated that the powder was cocaine. In the brim of his hat was found a fold of paper containing a brown substance which tested positive for heroin.
