A Solon Police officer was monitoring traffic on US 422 when he observed a vehicle travelling east bound at an excessive speed. The speed of the vehicle was confirmed at 90 MPH. The vehicle was stopped and while speaking with the driver a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The driver stated that he and his passenger were returning from a concert. A series of field test were performed which indicated the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the Solon Correction Center where he refused a breath test when offered.

Solon Police officers were dispatched to investigate a traffic crash on Baldwin Rd. Investigation revealed that the driver of a vehicle had struck a parked car on the roadway. In speaking with the driver, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on/or about his person. A series of field tests indicated that the driver was impaired. Due to injuries received from the crash, the driver was transported to a medical facility for treatment. While en-route with EMS, the driver admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana about an hour before the crash. A urine sample was collected and sent to the OSP laboratory.

Time: 9:40 AM

Location:30901 Carter St.

Solon Police were dispatched to 30901 Carter St. to investigate a suspicious device that had been found. Investigation discovered the while employees of Planet Aid were empting a clothing donation bin they found an item that resembled an explosive device. The SEALE Hazardous Material Team responded and determined that the item found was a toy and not an actual explosive device.
