WKYC Channel 3 Is The Local Primetime Home Of The Browns

CLEVELAND – WKYC Channel 3 announced that it will be the local broadcast primetime home of ESPN’s Cleveland Browns games for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 seasons. The Cleveland Browns will also play on NBC’s Sunday Night Football for the first time in 11 years.

WKYC President and General Manager Micki Byrnes said the station is elated. “This will be an epic season for the Cleveland Browns and the league’s number one fan base. Channel 3 is proud to be the local primetime home for the Browns. With the largest and most-seasoned sports team on air and on digital, we’ll bring the games to life during this extraordinary season,” Byrnes exclaimed.

WKYC Sports Anchor and official radio voice of the Cleveland Browns Jim Donovan said, “It’s the most anticipated season in decades. All eyes in the NFL will be on Cleveland and the great story of the Browns. It will be incredible to have Northeast Ohio watch it unfold in primetime on WKYC.”

WKYC’s initial plans and key dates for the most exciting Cleveland football season in recent memory are as follows:

WKYC has secured a three-year term with ESPN to simulcast future Cleveland Browns NFL football games on broadcast television.

Donovan Live on Channel 3 at 7 p.m. on Monday nights during the football season will feature local Browns reporters/commentators Mary Kay Cabot and Bud Shaw of wkyc.com.

The Cleveland Browns will host the Los Angeles Rams on NBC’s Sunday Night Football on September 22, 2019; week three of the 2019 NFL season. This is the first time the Browns have been on NBC’s Sunday Night Football since 2008. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth will offer the play-by-play and color commentary respectively for Sunday Night Football games on WKYC Channel 3.

Jim Donovan will report live from the field at 6 p.m., 11 p.m. and on Sports Tonight for the Browns vs. Rams game on Sunday Night Football. Weekend Sports Anchor Nick Camino will report in-studio.

Digital content will include coverage of practice, camps, press conferences, interviews, pre and postgame digital shows, podcasts, complete game analysis and much more.

The Sunday Night Football bus will arrive in Cleveland prior to the September 22nd game. On game day, it will be located at FirstEnergy stadium. The Sunday Night Football bus will give fans the opportunity to interact with America’s most-watched primetime television show with exclusive activities, memorabilia and four 42-inch monitors displaying highlights, promos and hype videos.

In 2019, the Cleveland Browns will play Monday Night Football on the following dates. These games will be covered nationally by ESPN and carried locally on broadcast television via WKYC Channel 3.
