Back Strain Shelves Clevinger

(Cleveland) - The Cleveland Indians will be without one of the mainstays of their starting rotation.

Righty Mike Clevinger has suffered a high grade strain to his teres major muscle in his right upper back.

He was evaluated Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic Tuesday by Dr. Mark Schickendantz where an MRI revealed the extent of the injury.

Clevinger has initiated treatment and rehab and will be re-evaluated following that 6 to 8 week time frame to assess his progress and readiness to resume throwing.
