CLEVELAND--Jordan Clarkson, who broke Campy Russell's Cavs record for most points scored by a reserve had a great look at the end of the game. However the 3-point attempt fell short at the buzzer as the Clippers held on to win 110-108 after leading by six points under two minutes left to play.
Danilo Gallinari of the Clippers led all scorers with 27 points as Los Angeles (the LA team that could perhaps make the playoffs this season) has won 9 of their last 10 games in March. I mean how do you explain this play below:
Kevin Love led the Cavs in scoring with 22 points followed by Collin Sexton with 20 points, although Sexton's streak of scoring 23+ points did end tonight due to foul trouble. In the last game, Sexton surpassed the mark by Tim Duncan back in 1998.
Cavs led 40-25 before the Clippers got back into the game and took their first lead at 61-60 in the 3rd quarter. Cavs were down 108-102 late in the fourth quarter before Clarkson and Nance scored which made it a two point game. After Landry Shametmade free throw attempts in which he was 1 of 2, Clarkson had the ball at the top of the key but was unable to make the shot.
Cavs will travel to Milwaukee this Sunday while the Clippers will visit New York on Sunday.
