(Cleveland) - The Ohio Department of Health notified contractors, vendors and employees Thursday that they are ending the distribution of budget money to Planned Parenthood.
The money should stop flowing to the women's health provider by the middle of April, unless there is a reversal of a federal appeals court decision that upheld Ohio's law, which blocks public money from going to Planned Parenthood or any other provider of abortion services.
The monies are actually from federal funds, and were earmarked for education, namely pregnancy and STD prevention programs.
Planned Parenthood has not publicly stated whether they will appeal that 11-6 appeals court decision, which would mean lobbying for the U.S. Supreme Court to consider the ruling.
