Embattled 'Empire' star Jussie Smollett has come under fire in the past for providing bogus information to law enforcement.
Smollett pleaded no contest in 2007 in Los Angeles to charges of DUI, driving without a license and providing false information to police.
Chicago police are investigating whether Smollett provided false info to cops after Smollett claims he was attacked during a hate crime last month in the Windy City.
Smollett claims two masked men hurled racial and anti-gay slurs his way, roughed him up and then threw a rope around his neck before shouting 'This is MAGA country'.
