GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- A day that started with the face of the franchise, Francisco Lindor, talking about his future and current injury status, ended with the first official full squad workout of spring camp for the Cleveland Indians.
Lindor, who met with the media for about 15 minutes, said he's progressing well from a calf strain that could keep him out 7-9 weeks and while he loves the city of Cleveland and the Indians organization, him and his agent are not in a spot to talk contract extension right now.
Lindor did mention he was happy to avoid arbitration and will gladly take the $10.55 million the club offered on a one-year deal. The Tribe still has three more years of control over Lindor.

Lindor could re-join the Indians in mid-April.
Terry Francona also met with the media on Monday in Goodyear and announced that Jason Kipnis will be the club's starting second baseman. Kipnis did offer to play some outfield, but for now his focus will be second base.
The Indians open the Cactus League exhibition schedule on Saturday at Goodyear Ballpark when they battle the Cincinnati Reds. First pitch is at 3:05 pm and can be heard on Newsradio WTAM 1100 and 106.9 FM.
