GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- With only a week to go before the Cactus League exhibition schedule opens, the Cleveland Indians are staying busy in spring camp. Pitchers and catchers reported earlier in the week on Tuesday, position players are expected to join camp this weekend, with the first official full squad workout slated for Mon., Feb. 18.
The Indians open the Cactus League slate on Sat., Feb. 23 at Goodyear Ballpark against the Cincinnati Reds.
Pitchers and catchers have been going through normal workouts which include bullpen sessions, fielding practice and technique sessions on the field, while position players are beginning to filter into camp, take their physicals and join in on the baseball prep.
The first Cactus League exhibition game can be heard on Newsradio WTAM 1100 at 3:05 pm ET.
