U.K. School Bans Expensive Jackets

(United Kingdom) - A school in England has banned designer jackets which students have regularly worn to school.

Administrators at Woodchurch High School have instituted the policy in an effort to curb what the school calls 'poverty shaming.'

The school says some students who could not afford expensive jackets such as Canada Goose and Moncler felt stigmatized, inadequate and left out because they could not afford the coats, some of which cost upwards of $900 apiece.
