(Cleveland) - Strongsville police say they will be hitching a ride on their city's public school buses, both to keep the peace inside the buses, and to catch drivers who run through the bus stop signs which extend when students are being allowed and on and off. Here's the Strongsville Department's Facebook posting:
******************
'If you haven’t heard, we are having officers ride randomly in school buses. Our department has initiated additional safety measures to protect children at their bus stops. Officers on the bus will be able to witness drivers ignoring the bus's flashing red stop lights, and additional staff will be on the roads to cite the offending drivers. We hope this will be a reminder to follow the laws regarding school buses as the safety of our children is paramount.'
