CLEVELAND - In what Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley called "a horrific case of child abuse, Tequila Crump and Ursula Owens have been found guilty in the death of Crump's five-year-old daughter Ta'naejah McCloud.
The all female jury deliberated for nearly three days before handing down their verdict this afternoon.
Doctors say the little girl died in march of last year from severe head and brain trauma.
Family members say they tried to inform social workers of on-going physical abuse, and the Cuyahoga Department of Children and Family Services had an open case for the little girl at the time of her death.
O'Malley said "...these women had no regard for this young life and need to be held accountable for their actions."
Sentencing has been scheduled for July 24th.
